.“Zeitbildung” is a potpourri gathering articles, workshop & seminar outlines, readings tips, ideas and links related to the practice of visual narration in the current media landscape, – from “art & advertising” to political,  educational, and organizational communication. We´re practically interested in any piece of visual narration lying out there: from simple smiley sequences on messaging apps and giffy memes to games and quantitative graphs to documentaries, art installations and/or TV serials…

This website is conceived by Timothée Ingen-Housz, professor for “media conception & dramaturgy” in the curriculum “communication in social and economic contexts” at the University of the Arts (Berlin).

The topics and themes approached here result from various transdisciplinary interactions, collaborations and debates engaging collaborators, colleagues, friends and guests, amongst which Jan Spiekermann, Klaus Gasteier, Wenzel Mehnert, Alexej Bormatenkow, Christian Blümelhuber, Thomas Düllo, Eckard Fürlus and Maren Hartmann, and all the students and allumnis of the UDK, whose conversation keeps enlarging the circle of our research and our minds altogether: Thilo Stracke, Enno Scharm, Karina Gutman, Laura Mankel,  Marco Zifaro, Anita Ackerman, Dominikus Mucha and many, many more.

This project takes part in a larger attempt to map the coordinates of contemporary media ecologies, and create narrative visualization tools for a variety of purposes and disciplines such as political activism, educational and organizational design, change management, social research and communication strategy.
